Escape to Hahei

Hahei is spectacular on the sunny days – no wonder why it is a holiday hotspot on the east coast of Coromandel.

Bob had a short break last week and piled up his car with camera gear. He went to Hahei for 2 nights on his own. The dog was not that happy as she had to make do with a tiny walk with me to the duck pond not in the park as usual. His cat was not happy either as he was fed only once at night. My cat did not care; she still had my service. I was fine - I did not have to cook and ate out with my girl friends.

I think it is a good idea for couples who have been together for more than 10 years to take a break from each other from time to time. Little break like this, dishwasher and things we take for granted and seem trivial can take the tension off the relationship.

  1. Good point. I live in Auckland too but have never heard of the place, although I migrated here. Must look it up - then see if I can sneak away from my other half for some 'me time'. (Fat chance!)

  2. It's just up the road from Hot Water Beach and starting point of a walk to Cathedral Cove (about 2.5 km).
